Superior Stability and Forearm Support

Our Walking Stick with Velcro Arm Strap (Gutter Crutch) is a specialized mobility aid engineered to provide enhanced stability and comfort for users requiring additional forearm and wrist support. Unlike traditional walking sticks, the integrated secure Velcro arm strap helps distribute body weight more evenly across the forearm, significantly reducing the strain on the hand and wrist during use.

Ergonomic Design for Recovery

The ergonomic design is specifically crafted to support the forearm while facilitating a natural walking motion. This makes it an essential tool for individuals recovering from surgery, managing injuries, or dealing with limited lower limb strength. By providing a more secure connection between the user and the stick, it promotes better posture and improved balance.

Versatile and Durable Construction

Built for durability and long-term use, this gutter crutch is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments. Whether used for short-term rehabilitation or long-term mobility assistance, its sturdy frame ensures reliable performance and user confidence.

Product Overview

The Walking Stick with Velcro Arm Strap, commonly referred to as a Gutter Crutch, is a mobility assistance device designed to provide more support than a standard walking stick. By utilizing a forearm cuff, it transfers a portion of the user's weight from the hand to the forearm, making it ideal for users with hand or wrist weakness.

Technical Specifications

Product Type: Gutter Crutch / Forearm Walking Stick
Weight: 1.27 kg
Dimensions: 98cm (Height) x 30cm (Width) x 30cm (Length)
Support Mechanism: Adjustable Velcro Arm Strap

How It Works

Traditional walking sticks rely heavily on grip strength and wrist stability. The Gutter Crutch utilizes a forearm cuff (the arm strap) to create a secondary point of contact. This allows the user to lean slightly into the stick, transferring weight through the radius and ulna (forearm bones) rather than solely through the carpals (wrist bones), which is particularly beneficial for those with wrist injuries or arthritis.

Usage & Installation Guidelines

Fitting: Ensure the Velcro strap is adjusted to fit snugly around the forearm without restricting circulation.
Height Adjustment: The stick should be adjusted so that when the user is standing upright, the handle is at the level of the user's wrist crease.
Surface Contact: Ensure the rubber tip (if applicable) has full contact with the ground to prevent slipping.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Cleaning: Wipe down the frame and the Velcro strap with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals that may degrade the Velcro or the grip material.
Inspection: Regularly check the Velcro strap for fraying and inspect the base/tip for excessive wear to ensure maximum safety.
